Singapore Airlines Business Class Seat Review (A380, A340 & To Date 777-300ER)

Singapore Airlines Business class is something not to be missed. When you step onboard their aircraft, you are greeted with a smile and courtesy you simply don't find on most other  airlines.

Upon reaching your seat you are greeted with width, class, space and comfort. The seat is so wide that they provide you with a cushion to allow you to rest your arms comfortably. The seat itself has limited recline positions if not wanting to sleep which, is an issue they have fixed with the new up and coming cabin soon to be released in September. The entertainment screen is a healthy 15 inches and everything is on demand. The refreshment time on entertainment will be adequate for the general traveller however frequent travellers may find that they are watching the same stuff on a different flight. The range is pretty good with a selection of Chinese dramas to the latest blockbusters with comedies and hit US drama in between.

In terms of storage space, this is where I think this seat lets you down. There is little storage space apart from a little pod like space under your footrest which is fine for a bag but in terms of loose items, its not the best. However, credit to Singapore Airlines in listening to customer feedback and discovering that their passengers are wanting more space which is what they have incorporated into their new seat. This shows that Singapore AIrlines is open  to new ideas and is very customer orientated which I think is a must for any Airline.

I must say, the bed is the best thing about this seat. To use it, you must get up, lift up the latch and fold it down which is easy enough and what you are greeted with is a 6ft plus long bed complete with blankets and pillows to further add to your comfort. If your aren't up for making your bed, one of the eager to please stewardesses who when you need them, seem to magically appear, will happily assist you in making you bed. The bed is comfortable and although you find yourself sleeping at an angle because of the footrest which some seem to dislike, this was no concern for me and I was soon drifting off to sleep.

The next thing to review is the food. This I must say is what Singapore Airlines does exceptionally well along with lots of other things. In business class and first class, you are given the option to 'Book The Cook'  which is a service where you can choose from a variety of options so that when you get onboard, you get exactly the food you want. This service is also great for kids with a great selection of child meals. If you don't Book The Cook, fear not as Singapore Airlines, just like every other decent airline, provides a good selection onboard. I especially loved the Satay sticks served before meals which is a great way to start the meal.

Overral, Singapore Airlines is a must for any avid traveller. Although slightly pricey, it is you pay for what you get. The onboard service is second to none and the seat is one of the very best in the skies. The on the ground service at the amazing Singapore Changi Airport is a top class airport and the lounge, although slightly crowded at peak times, supplied good food, nice showers, a functional business centre and nice seating. On the whole, Very Pleased
